Youth Funding Youth Ideas
is divided into 3 teams, all positions within the teams are
filled by youth between the ages of 14-17. (13 YFYI teen staff total)
Program Officers
The Program Officers are a group of individuals who serve as
liaisons between applicants/grantees and YFYI. Each proposal
received is assigned a program officer who conducts an interview
with the applicants and provides assistance in revision of the
proposal if necessary. Once a proposal is funded, the program
officers are in constant communication with the projects and
make weekly telephone contact and monthly site visits to check
on the progress of the projects.

Evaluators
YFYI Evaluators are responsible for collecting and maintaining
all information required by DCYF (Department of Children, Youth,
and Their Families). The Youth Evaluator is in charge of frequent
communication with Program Officers to update CMS, DCYF’s
contract management system, by recording any meetings, interviews,
etc. the Program Officers have with applicants. The Youth Evaluator
is also in charge of evaluating the strengths and weaknesses
of projects as well as the YFYI program while making suggestions
for development.

Outreach Workers
The Outreach Workers are a group of do outreach and spread word
about YFYI as well as all other C.H.A.L.K. programs throughout
San Francisco. They outreach in schools, community-based organizations,
and on the streets. Outreach Workers represent YFYI at community
events and gatherings, as well as conducting presentations about
YFYI.
